In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Versailles' Great Masked Ball, Reuters' day, lens aberrations and VSCO Capture.
- Associated Press photographer Christopher Ena captures Versailles' Great Masked Ball where 2,500 in baroque costumes danced until dawn.
- Reuters presents 20 Pictures of the Day for today from around the world, starting with jet suits.
- Jim Kasson wrote a program to simulate Lens Aberrations, demonstrating commons ones with a Siemens star as the target. He's just added a demo using real-world images as well.
- VSCO has announced Capture, a camera app with over 50 live presets, real-time film effects and manual control. Initially available this week in Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, the U.S. release is expected this summer.
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
