In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at AP's photos of the day, the Belfast Photo Festival, simulated lens abberations on fabric and Mike and Milly.

  • The Associated Press presents its Top Photos of the Day "from front-page news to powerful moments you may have missed."
  • Something Fishy features the best images from the Belfast Photo Festival. The theme for this year's annual event is "Biosphere."
  • Jim Kasson continues his Visualising Lens Aberrations project with fabrics this time.
  • Mike and Milly is a photo by Sean Geer of a Romanian rescue dog and Mike Hardaker, the creator of several very good and well-received iPhone photo apps. Mike Johnston features the photo and Geer's description, each of which, he writes, would stand alone. "But the two obviously belong together," he adds.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
