In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. - The Associated Press features a few photos of the start of the Running of the Bulls festival in Pamplona, which goes on for nine days.
- Reuters documents the Desperate Scenes From Texas as the search for the missing continues after catastrophic hills country flash flooding.
- In Black and White Filter Play, Harold Davis experiments with different options on his Leica Monochrom M11. "Interestingly, the family consensus was the the orange filter was the best and that the no filter option was the worst (described as 'duller')," he writes.
- I Quit My Job, Michelle Jackson says, and bought a dSLR. She's been winning national and international awards for her landscape photography.
- Mike Johnston distracts himself by listing 15 Things I Like About My Camera (his Sigma FP modified to shoot monochrome) ...And 5 Things I Dislike. "There might be one problem I haven't mentioned -- now that I'm happy, I don't really look around at new cameras any more," he writes.
