We have been looking at these towels for over two decades. We intended them to be decorative because we didn't want to remove the towel bar installed by the previous owner (so we wouldn't have to paint the bathroom).

Towels. iPhone Pro Max back camera at 6.8mm, f1.8, 1/237 second and ISO 50. Shot with Adobe Indigo and edited in Camera Raw.

Not everyone who visits gets that they are decorative. But nothing else invites a visitor to dry their hands there because, well, we don't get many visitors.

We were looking at them recently one morning only to realize how old they have become. Who keeps towels hanging around for 23 years?

They have faded a bit, proving we do get sun around here when the fog relents. That merely confirms their age. And, it would seem, ours.

We took a photo. With Indigo, Adobe's camera app that tries to be more like a dSLR than a smartphone. And we edited the capture in Camera Raw, straightening it out and pulling back the highlights and shadows.

Then we had the bright idea of turning the towels around so the sides that had been protected from the sun all these years would be in the front.

Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?
