In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at the Tour De France, Wellcome Photography Prize, Oaxaca, Mexico, Minimalism and Simplicity, bike jumping and old favorites.

  • Reuters showcases 19 photos of the Best of the Tour De France.
  • The Guardian presents winners of the Wellcome Photography Prize from microscopic images inside a human kidney to self portraits of enduring epilepsy and endometriosis.
  • Suzanne Sease features Oaxaca, Mexico, the personal project of Brian Maranan Pineda. "What struck me most were the people -- their warmth, openness and deep connection to their tradition," he says. "Through candid portraits and vivid scenes, I wanted to capture not just what Oaxaca looks like, but how it feels: full of energy, history and life."
  • Rob Wood presents Light Stalking's June photo contest winners on the theme of Minimalism and Simplicity. "Landscapes, wildlife, portraits, nature, still life, macros of flowers, bugs, objects and many other subjects were captured and submitted for June's contest," he writes.
  • Flashbak presents snapshots of kids Bike Jumping in the 1970s.
  • Zach Sutton provides A Look at Top Products From Over the Years to "walk down memory lane to discuss some of the most popular gear from 2006." Starting in 2006, anyway.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
