In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Frederick Rüegger, Alex Turner, Niranjan Shrestha and auto polo.

  • Frederick Rüegger spent two years Inside Travellers' Horse Fairs in Britain and Ireland. His images have been publish in I Am a Stranger in This Country.
  • Heidi Volpe interviews Alex Turner about his series Blind Forest, uses thermal imaging to reveal the hidden life of trees. "What drew me to thermal imaging was its ability to reveal what's normally invisible not just heat, but a different way of seeing vitality, presence and change," he says.
  • Niranjan Shrestha captures A Rickshaw Driver and His Dog as they charm hearts in Nepal's Kathmandu.
  • Photographs of Auto Polo displays glass negatives of an auto-polo match played at Hilltop Park, N.Y., thought to have taken place in 1912, plus two additional images from Coney Island.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
