In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at AP's week, Venice red carpet, Adobe's Project Indigo, leaf shutter bokeh and relaunching The Online Photographer.
- he4 Associated Press presents its top Photos of the Week curated by photo editor Shuji Kajiyama.
- Reuters posts 21 photos from the Venice Film Festival Red Carpet.
- In Reflections on Adobe's Project Indigo, Joe Rosensteel reviews the free iOS camera app. "It seems like it would be a better idea to build a fully featured camera app that happens to include experimental features, rather than an app that only has experimental features," he writes. He misses video and laments artifacts from combining multiple exposures (which we haven't seen) but the Camera app (which we prefer for portraits) is still just a tap away.
- In Fujifilm GFX 100RF Shutter Bokeh Effects, Jim Kasson notes, "Leaf shutter cameras have bokeh issues at high shutter speeds." He gives a few Fujifilm examples that are "not nearly as ugly" as the Hasselblad examples he's recently shown.
- With TypePad shutting down at the end of September, Mike Johnston announces The Online Photographer Will Be Relaunching. He's looking for some help moving the site.
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
