In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at a rare Blood Moon, Visa pour l'Image, a Split Rock flower, AI-interpreted voice commands and working on a commercial set.
- Reuters showcases 34 photos of the Rare Blood Moon total lunar eclipse.
- Images chosen by 24 international newspaper picture editors will compete at Visa pour l'Image, the photojournalism festival in Perpignan, France, running through Sept. 14.
- Harold Davis shares a few images of his Split Rock Flower, which "looks for all the world like it is made of small stones."
- In Hey Camera, Thom Hogan discusses the issues with voice control of devices, including Camera Intelligence's plan to develop "an m4/3 camera that supports AI-interpreted voice commands." (He also has a handful of articles about the camera market this morning.)
- Zac Sutton shares Five Things I've Learned While Being on a Commercial Set. We particularly liked this one: Stress Comes from the Top and Attitude is Everything. "A tense marketing team or creative director can make the entire room tense and by contrast, a comfortable CD will ease all tension on set," he writes.
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look five years back. And please support our efforts...
