In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Reuters' week, Rodrigo Abd, an immigration court in New York, Ocean Photographer of the Year and new iPhone's camera problem.

  • Reuters showcases 24 Photos of the Week from around the world.
  • Associated Press photographer Rodrigo Abd has been named the POY Latam 2025 Photojournalist of the Year.
  • Julius Constantine Motal captured the Civil Disobedience and Mass Arrests outside an immigration court in New York. Eleven elected officials tried to gain access to an ICE detention facility while immigration activists tried to block vans carrying detained migrants.
  • Kate Mothes features the Ocean Photographer of the Year Contest winners. "This year's top prize goes to Yury Ivanov for his wonderful depiction of two tiny amphipods, which, despite their minuscule size, display beautiful colors and symmetry," she writes.
  • Apple has confirmed that The New iPhones Have a Camera Problem, writes David Price. "One out of every 10 or so photos taken on the iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro Max [had] small blacked-out portions," CNN's Henry Casey reported after testing the phones at a concert, "including boxes and parts of white squiggles from the big LED board behind the band." Apple explained this is "something that can happen in very rare cases when an LED light display is extremely bright and shining directly into the camera. Apple has identified a fix and will be releasing it in an upcoming software update."

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
