In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at AP's week, the White House East Wing, Julia Watson and a Peakto beta for Premiere.
- The Associated Press showcases its Top Photos of the Week curated by photo editor Beatrice Larco.
- Reuters shows 15 photo of the White House East Wing through history. And another 19 of the Entire White House East Wing Demolished to make way for Trump's new ballroom, "contradicting his pledge that the project would not interfere with the existing U.S. landmark."
- Grace Ebert reviews Julia Watson's new book Lo-TEK Water, published by Taschen, that "highlights various Indigenous technologies and aquatic systems that could be utilized in adapting to a climate-changed world."
- Cyme will unveil a major new version of its media manager Peakto at Adobe MAX 2025, featuring a new public beta plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro. Editors using Premiere Pro can access both their own local footage and any media shared with them through Peakto, as if everything were part of a single unified library, and securely share this access with remote collaborators over the Internet using a direct, encrypted peer-to-peer connection with no cloud involved.
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
