The trip to the top of Twin Peaks is not to be missed. There is a parking lot just beyond Eureka, the northern peak, leading to Christmas Tree Point where you can survey the East Bay and Marin, Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge, all the sights of downtown and more.

But it's worth looking behind you. To the south, you'll find the city's tallest peak, Mount Davidson, and the South Bay.
We used Dehaze to darken the shadows of this image shot toward the sun. We also had to reduce the Exposure to put some color in the sky.
We've been taking the Alfa up there now and then to get a few more miles in. And, well, it's fun to drive up the winding two-lane road, too.
Sometimes we have a police escort as the SFPD makes its rounds to the top. And sometimes we wind our way through bicyclists and pedestrians on the same road.
This weekend we saw some low-lying fog beneath the view as we drove up the hill. So, on the way back, we pulled over to take a shot looking south into the sun with our phone through the Alfa's 58 year old windshield.
We had just bought new windshield wipers, the first time since we bought the car in 1984. We don't drive it in the rain any more but we thought it prudent to be prepared. Our mechanic insisted on replacing them and we're glad he did because they are different sizes. Who knew? He did. He has the same car.
So the windshield was clear, the view was beautiful and we got a shot we liked.
Because the Alfa made sure we looked behind us.
