In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Edward Weston, Massimo Giorgetta, Johnston's dislikes, Photoshop's painting tools, the Hasselblad X2D II, labels, a Vivid-Pix deal and ICP's shop.

  • Jim Kasson posts "the first in what will probably be about a dozen posts" about the Hasselblad X2D II and the Hasselblad X2D II EDR.
  • In Why Labels Won't Solve the Trust Crisis, Paul Melcher writes, "While labels describe intent, visual form drives perception. And perception wins."
  • Vivid-Pix is offering its Memory Station Software for $99.99 with the code FF2025. The software uses "your existing computer and scanner to digitize your photos in archival quality, restore them with Vivid-Pix's patented image-improvement technology and record audio of your own, your friends' and your family members' memories and feelings."
  • The International Center of Photography in New York City is offering Holiday Gift Suggestions from its shop.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
