31 December 2025

The last sunset of 2025 in San Francisco was Dec. 30 -- not tonight. That's because it has been raining all day today and there is no hope the sun will break through.

Last Sunset. Captured with Adobe Indigo on the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max with the 15.7mm back camera at f2.8, 1/215 second and ISO 100. Processed in Adobe Camera Raw.

But yesterday after we published our Wish You Were Here! story, we climbed up the stairs out of the bunker thinking about what to wrestle to the mat for dinner when we saw what you see in the photo above.

We were too awe struck to do anything but rush to the window with our iPhone and capture the color.

Since Joyce has been away from home, we've developed the habit of texting her a photo of any beautiful sunset so she can share a bit of it as if she were still here looking out our picture window.

We used to photograph the sunset on her birthday, print it and make a birthday card of it for her. Texting is a lot less work.

She loved this one. "Wow!" she texted back. We couldn't put it any better.
