We've just archived Volume 15, Number 5 of Photo Corners on the Archive page with 13 Features, 7 commented News stories, 25 Editor's Notes (which included 129 items of interest) and 1 site note for a total of 46 stories.
Last year we published 52 stories in June, including 12 News stories and 138 items in our Editor's Notes. Which explains the drop-off.
We're getting older but that isn't the problem.
Features are keeping pace despite our persistent double vision, which rules out both product and book reviews. We just don't feel we can be fair to them at the moment.
There's always something to see here. And to read about.
If you came here looking for photos, you found 93 last month. We celebrated one holiday and marked the passing of two photographers of note.
We could have added three more gear stories if we'd covered the Leica lens introductions. But we doubt extravagantly priced optics are actually products one would use. You might talk about them at a dinner party, if you bought them, but we don't see anybody shooting sports or street photography with them.
Correct us if we're wrong.
THE READERSHIP problem persists. We're getting slammed every month despite our best efforts to thwart the non-reading hits. It isn't just us, of course. We've seen several sites we regularly reference succumb to attacks. It's the nature of the business these days.
We, therefore, appreciate our hosting provider's generous approach to bandwidth limits. We are greatly exceeding ours but they have not billed us for that. There is nothing either of us can do about it.
So once again, we'll refrain from reciting our readership numbers for the month. They're astronomical. But false.
Still, if you're interested in photography (or even just in beauty itself), we had a few things among our Features for you in June. Particularly the matinees.
There's always something to see here. And to read about. Something to launch your mind into orbit. And out of this world, as we used to say long ago.
