In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at AP's week, Reuters' week, wildlife's week, Gordon Parks, an AI photoshoot and believing your own eyes.

- Reuters presents 16 of its Photos of the Week from around the world.
- Joanna Ruck at The Guardian celebrates Week in Wildlife with images of a stuck raccoon, a hardy mouse and a well-camouflaged wildcat, among others.
- Kate Mothes previews Voices in the Mirror, an exhibition of Gordon Parks images at Jack Shainman Gallery from Sept. 18 to Nov. 7, also marking the 20th anniversary of The Gordon Parks Foundation.
- In Photographer Loses $259k Photoshoot to AI, Bryan Sheffield prices a contract for "still-life and lifestyle photography of talent wearing athleisure." Funny thing. "When I followed up with the client about the dates we'd penciled in, the response came the next day in a long email," he writes. "The client had decided to move forward and execute the entire project using an AI artist." He continues, "Their reasoning cited cost savings, the ability to "own" the assets outright (I took this to mean use for whatever they want in perpetuity, since AI images cannot be copyrighted). They also mentioned the ability to 'share' the work freely with partners."
- In Trust Me, I'm a Photograph, Paul Melcher misses the time when "a photograph was something you could interrogate yourself." Those days are over, he writes. "Believing our own eyes was never the permanent human condition. It was a two-hundred-year exception, a loan the camera extended to us and the loan is being called in."
