In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Reuters' week, AP's week, the Commonwealth Games, a shot of the Tour De France, Devil's Tower and Jan Novak.
- Reuters presents 22 Photos of the Week from around the world.
- The Associated Press showcases its Top Photos of the Week curated by photo editor Anne Marie Belgrave.
- The Guardian continues its daily coverage of the Commonwealth Games with images from day eight in Glasgow.
- Thibault Camus used a slow shutter speed to capture a shot of the Tour De France at full speed. "I positioned myself at ground level and used a wide-angle lens and a shutter speed of 1/30th of a second to capture this motion blur," he writes.
- Kate Mothes features Zac Henderson's black-and-white shots of Devil's Tower in northeastern Wyoming. She includes a few color images as well.
- Heidi Volpe interviews Jan Novak about working with Patagonia shooting sport climbing. "To feel safe on the wall with the climbers you are with is indispensable for creating great images," Novak says.
