Site Update: Sonic Retires Web Hosting

An email from Sonic, our Internet Service Provider, delivered the bad news yesterday under the topic "Web Hosting Service Retirement." The company will shut down its Web hosting service on Jan. 15, 2027.
Which would shut us down.
We set up mikepasini.com with Sonic in March of 2008. Photo Corners sprang to life almost overnight in December 2012 when our association with Imaging Resource became untenable. We started a blog (the length of three long novels now) based on the same code to keep Joyce's family informed of her health issues in 2020. And we launched 'Tis in 2025 as a blog roll on national issues we follow daily.
Sonic will shut down its Web hosting service on Jan. 15, 2027.
The latter two, by design, account for little traffic. Perhaps 45 regular readers of Joyce's blog and the blog roll itself never actually needs to be accessed if you subscribe to its RSS feed.
But Photo Corners is a different story.
Unfortunately, the traffic it generates is mostly bot visits. But we realize real people (like you) read it as well. And we enjoy producing it.
But we asked ourselves if we should just take the hint and shut down in 2027. Everything ends eventually anyway, as someone recently pointed out to us.
Not yet, though.
We do enjoy publishing on the Web. And if we've learned anything over 18 years with Sonic, it's that we'd like to continue.
We thought briefly about hosting ourselves but after our bot experience, we're not confident we could protect our domain.
Sonic's Basic Hosting with six email addresses is $19.95 a month and that's served us well. We'd be looking for something like to continue publishing.
