We've just archived Volume 15, Number 8 of Photo Corners on the Archive page with 13 Features, 3 commented News stories, 25 Editor's Notes (which included 137 items of interest), 3 reviews and 2 site notes for a total of 46 stories.

Last year's numbers were not a lot different. But five years ago, we published 55 stories in August with 166 items of interest in our Editor's Notes.

This August, we published 102 images in 11 stories with one story including gear specifications. If it weren't for three obituaries, it would have been a very slow news month.

READERSHIP levels remain a mystery as we still managed to serve over three million pages on a "quiet" month that resembled our May numbers. But, again, our article counts reveal a bit about what has been worth reading.

If it weren't for three obituaries, it would have been a very slow news month.

In top place was our review of Indigo's new AI critiquing. It didn't hurt that we had it review a photo of a gorgeous Ferrari.

The Sony 100-400 zoom, the only article with a gear specification, came in second. Third was a Horn and fourth was our review of Indigo's AI distractor removal, followed by our July archive story.

Which, if you've been following the bouncing ball here, will surprise you that only one Horn made it into the top five. Three made it into the next five, but not before our matinee on photo tricks. Our matinee on Burtinsky came in ninth, followed by another Indigo piece.

SITE NEWS was all behind the scenes this month as we continued to research a new hosting service.

Most hosting services tout their WordPress compatibility but we aren't playing that game. So it can be difficult to divine from their Web sites if they offer the level of support we need.

But we had the bright idea to ask Gemini for a recommendation based on our requirements. It suggested Namecheap, A2 Hosting (Hosting.com) and SiteGround. We had looked at those without much enthusiasm.

Our current hosting service recommended DreamHost, so we asked about that.

Gemini didn't like the site backup service or the custom control panel.

We also asked about GreenGeeks because their site provided answers to most of our questions. Gemini groused about requiring the admins to do a backup (something we've never had to do with Sonic anyway) and a cap at 50 email addresses (we use five).

So we haven't made a decision but we thought September would be a good time to make the switch. So, in addition to our usual advice to stay tuned, we'll add, "Watch out!" this month, too.
