Main Feature Details

A design that inspires you to take it everywhere and keep shooting -- dust & splash proof and equipped with an electronic viewfinder.

The PEN is the first camera to be introduced under the PEN name by OM System. With a rangefinder-style design that has been loved for generations for its everyday usability, the PEN features a design that is both timeless and modern. Although the overall aesthetic focuses on straight lines, this camera also incorporates firm, curved surfaces that fit comfortably in the hand, balancing a quality feel with a secure grip.

It is also compact and supremely portable, making it easy to carry in everyday situations or on a journey and is equipped with an electronic viewfinder for better visibility and usability when shooting. Users can enjoy the unique process of shooting with a camera, looking through the viewfinder while adjusting the aperture value and shutter speed to achieve the image they want. This model is also the first camera in the PEN series to feature IPX1-rated splash proof performance and a dustproof design. Sealing materials are incorporated at key points throughout the camera body, allowing photographers to shoot with confidence even when faced with sudden changes in the weather.

In addition to design aesthetics and portability, the PEN offers excellent shooting performance. The TruePic IX image processing engine, 20.37 million effective pixel Live MOS sensor and high-resolution M.Zuiko Digital lens deliver excellent image quality. The PEN also features 5-axis image stabilization compatible with all mountable Micro Four Thirds System standard lenses, greatly enhancing hand-held shooting with up to 5.5 stops of stabilization in the center and up to 4.5 stops at the edges.

Color & Monochrome Profile Control that provides film-like image tone and expression. Presets can be selected such as choosing a color or black-and-white film setting, making it easy to explore different photographic styles. Users can enjoy photographic expression with colors and textures that reflect their own preferences, whether rendering city streets with a nostalgic air, creating a soft, delicate atmosphere or capturing striking monochrome images. Users can also check and adjust the effects of presets when shooting through the viewfinder, making it easier to create original photographic styles. The Profile Control Switch on the front of the camera offers single-press access to this function while holding the camera. Profile control can also be applied when shooting video (with the exception of S&Q).

Color Profile Control During color photography, the saturation of 12 separate colors can be adjusted in 11 levels to achieve the ideal tones. This can also be combined with Highlight & Shadow Control or shading effects for an expanded range of expression. We offer four preset types: "Film Rich Color," for rich, deep tones, "Film Vivid," for vivid saturation and rich colors, "Film Soft Tone," which delivers light, soft tones and Standard (Natural).

Monochrome Profile Control Users can combine five effects that are essential for black and white photography, including color filter effect, Highlight & Shadow Control, shading effects, film grain effect and tone effect for truly unique black and white images. Four presets are available: Film B&W, which makes use of a film grain effect, Film IR, which emphasizes a red color filter effect that looks like infrared film, Film Low Contrast, which reduces the contrast for a soft impression and Standard (Monotone).

Computational photography features, a new photographic expression driven by digital technology Compositing techniques that generally require a PC during post-processing are now available in-camera thanks to computational photography. Simply capturing images with the PEN allows users to create new photographic expressions with the latest digital technology, from more dramatic landscapes and cityscapes to depictions of flowing water as smooth and delicate as silk. The CP button is included on the camera to activate computational photography for easier access to some of these functions. Press and hold the CP button while turning the Control Dial to switch to the following shooting functions: Tripod High Res Shot Mode, Handheld High Res Shot, Live ND (ND2-16), Focus Stacking, HDR (HDR1 and 2) and Multiple Exposure.
