In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at the U.N. General Assembly, Berlin Art Week, Nikon's Small World, profiles for people of color and modal camera menus.
- The Associated Press reports on The U.N. General Assembly as members tackle "address wars in Iran, Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan, Congo and Myanmar, along with climate change, inequality, economic turmoil and questions about the U.N.'s future."
- The Guardian presents highlights from three new shows to mark the opening of the 15th edition of Berlin Art Week, from Chernobyl to migrating birds, and a retrospective solo show from Carrie Mae Weems.
- Jackie Andres reports the results from Nikon's Small World in Motion Contest. "This year’s panel welcomed esteemed scientists, researchers, and science communicators who evaluated more than 340 video entries from 40 different countries," she writes.
- Chris Gampat list his favorite Profiles for People of Color for various cameras.
- In A Plea for Globally Modal Camera Menus, Jim Kasson writes, "Cameras keep gaining features. Their menus keep getting longer, more complicated, and harder to navigate." He has a suggestion.
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
