In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at the Dog Photography Awards, AP's week, Reuters' week, wildlife's week, the Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards and LensCulture's Photobook Prize.
- The Guardian highlights 18 winning images from the Dog Photography Awards out of 1,900 entries from 50 countries.
- The Associated Press presents its Top Photos of the Week curated by photo editor Eloy Martin.
- Reuters showcases 20 Photos of the Week from around the world.
- Joanna Ruck marks Week in Wildlife with images of a rescued orangutan, the chonkiest bear and a barn owl's triumph, among others.
- Kate Mothes shares images by the finalists of the Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards. "At more than 10,000 photos, the competition received its highest ever number of entries this year from photographers in 112 countries," she writes. You can see all 40 finalists' images at the contest's Web site as well as vote for the Sterna People’s Choice Award.
- LensCulture has announced the winner, five shortlisted projects and 10 finalists of its Photobook Prize, selected from submissions by photographers in 91 countries.
