Another Lunch at Home

I brought Joyce home for lunch again today. I served a cup of Rao's minestrone with a little fake caesar salad with black olives, which she ate most of. She also had a Boost.
But before all that fun, she climbed the stairs. Again she had trouble with the threshold. She just couldn't lift her left foot high enough to clear. And when I helped her, she kneeled down and keeled over on the floor inside.
She couldn't get her legs under her to stand, so I got a chair and lift her up onto it.
Then I hunted down a pair of shoes for her that would be a better fit than the huaraches that are a bit too loose now that she's lost weight. With shoes that laced up, she was able to stand and walk through the kitchen to the dining room table.
And have lunch.
So it was something of a test for both of us. I'm glad I was able to figure out how to get her up from the floor. And I'm glad I remembered the advice to use the belt to control her fall not prevent it.
And she recovered enough to make it down the stairs later with no problem whatsoever. The shoes helped, no doubt. But she also wasn't stepped on her foot going down.
She has a busy month. There's a video call next Monday, the podiatrist on Friday and then the dentist next Tuesday and her debridement the day after.
