Iridient Developer Adds Support For X-Trans, Retina Display Tweet This   Forward This

26 June 2013

Iridient Digital has released Iridient Developer 2.1.1 [M] with new demosaic processing for Fujifilm X-Trans cameras, 25 percent reduced memory usage for noise reduction, Retina display improvements, preview scrolling improvements and bug fixes.

The company said its new demosaic method provides improved fine detail rendering, even better sharpness and other advantages over Apple's conversion, although the Apple conversion remains available.

It also noted the reduced memory usage "should help boost performance on older systems with lower amounts of RAM and/or slower memory access speeds."

The update is available directly from Iridient Digital.

Further details are in the press release below.

Iridient Digital releases Iridient Developer 2.1.1 for Mac OS X

PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. -- Iridient Digital, Inc. has released Iridient Developer 2.1.1, an update to its photo processing software for Mac OS X.

The Iridient Developer 2.1.1 update can now be downloaded here: http://www.iridientdigital.com/products/rawdeveloper_download.html

This release features all new, native demosaic processing for the Fujifilm X-Trans (X-Pro1, X-E1, X100S and X20) cameras in addition to the existing support for these cameras using either Apple's Raw libraries or Adobe DNG (linear) format conversion. The new demosaic method provides improved fine detail rendering, even better sharpness and other advantages over Apple's conversion. The Apple conversion still offers good results, the company said, and is still available for an alternate conversion method.

This update greatly reduces (by 25 percent) the memory usage of the new noise reduction methods introduced in version 2.1. This should help boost performance on older systems with lower amounts of RAM and/or slower memory access speeds.

This release also includes a number of improvements to preview drawing for Retina displays, better handling of touch gestures for preview scrolling on older laptops and other bug fixes.

Support has been added for 14 new Raw cameras, plus native support for Fujifilm X-Trans models:

  • Canon: EOS 1D-C
  • Olympus: E-P5 and E-PL6
  • Panasonic: DMC-LF1
  • Pentax: K-50 and K-500
  • Samsung: NX300, NX2000 and NX1100
  • Fujifilm: X-Pro1, X-E1, X20 and X100S now natively supported by new demosaic process in addition to existing support using Apple Raw libraries.
  • Leica: x Vario (Typ 107)
  • Hasselblad: H5D-60
  • Blackmagic Design: Blackmagic Cinema Camera
  • Ikonoskop: A-Cam dII and A-Cam dII Panchromatic
