Chicago Stanley Cup Victory In 2,000 Words Tweet This   Forward This

28 June 2013

The SunTimes/DarkTimes blog compared the front pages of the Sun-Times.com and Tribune after the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup this week.

As the blog notes, "The Sun-Times let go its photography staff in favor of more multimedia and reporters with iPhones." And the comparison between the two publications' coverage is revealing.

A picture may be worth a thousand words, but the Sun-Times.com photo looks more like a 140-word tweet than a thousand-word image next to Anthony Souffle's shot of the Cup hoisted in the air by Blackhawk forward Andrew Shaw.

You get what you pay for.
