In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at protecting your online photos, sunglasses for the color blind, Walmart's 10-year-old USB drives and Amazon's user reviews.

  • At Derrick Story's Photo Help Desk the topic of the day is How to Protect My Images Online.
  • David Pogue discovers EnChroma Cx sunglasses dramatically improve his strong protan color blindness, bringing him "a few moments of genuine, breath-catching wonder."
  • Consumerist found Seagate 2.5-GB USB 2.0 hard drives at Walmart for $79, which it points out are "comically high prices" for 10-year-old technology. For $9.74 you can pick up a 16-GB Kingston DataTraveler or, for just $69.99, a USB 3.0 1-TB drive (both of which we use here).
  • Amazon is now collecting its Funniest Reviews on a page of its own, like craigslist's Best Of.

More to come...
