One day it's the revival of that old 35mm efilm concept with the DigiPod and the next it's Sony slapping digicam muscle onto your puny smartphone.
You can't buy either but you can preorder the Sony contraption. It turns out to be, well, not a little uninteresting.
What the smartphone brings to the party is storage and sharing. And, if it's an Android device, even a little editing with a special version of Snapseed that can capture an image directly from the Sony for immediate manipulation.
The QXs bring optics, zoom and some exposure control via phone software.

Note that neither model includes a flash, unlike any digicam, mirrorless and most dSLRs. That trick is for another day, apparently.
