The update is free to ViewPoint owners who purchased a license on or after Aug. 1.

DxO Releases ViewPoint v2.1

Automatically Corrects Lens Distortion In Apple Aperture And Is Now Compatible With Adobe Photoshop Elements 12

PARIS, France -- DxO Labs announces the immediate availability of DxO ViewPoint v2.1, its software dedicated to fixing problems with perspective and to correcting volume deformations. DxO ViewPoint v2.1 automatically corrects lens distortion when used as a plug-in for Apple Aperture and now extends its compatibility to include Adobe Photoshop Elements 12. The software also now supports the Canon EOS 70D and the Sony DSC-RX1R.

Based on DxO Labs' exclusive correction technologies, DxO ViewPoint v2.1 offers simple visual tools that let users easily and efficiently correct two phenomena that frequently confront photographers who shoot with wide-angle lenses: volume deformation of subjects on image edges and convergent lines.

With a single license, DxO ViewPoint v2.1 can be used as a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements, Adobe Lightroom, Apple Aperture and also as a standalone application for Mac and Windows. Automatic distortion correction

Now completely compatible with Apple Aperture and Adobe Photoshop Elements 12, DxO ViewPoint v2.1 automatically corrects all types of distortion -- pincushion, barrel and fisheye -- when used as a plug-in for these two applications.

Thanks to DxO Optics Modules, which contain copious information about the characteristics of each camera and lens combination, photographers can apply to their images corrections that have been perfectly adapted to their equipment. Availability and price

DxO ViewPoint v2.1 is now available for Windows and Mac in the DxO Labs online store and at photo resellers at the following price:

  • United States: $79
  • Europe: €79 (Suggested retail price, including VAT)
  • Great BritainP £59 (Suggested retail price, including VAT)

This upgrade is free to all owners of DxO ViewPoint who purchased a license on or after Aug. 1.
