Photographer Jeremy Cowart had just finished shooting publicity stills for The Haves and HaveNots TV show when the actor John Schneider asked him, "Hey can you sneak a few more portraits of me?"

Cowart was glad to oblige. And impressed by Schneider's acting ability as the actor suddenly started weeping.

"But then after a couple of frames," Cowart writes, "I could tell that this wasn't an act. He was really somewhere else."

In A Rare Connection: My Photo Shoot with John Schneider, Cowart tells the whole story, complete with photos.

At the beginning of the piece, Cowart confides that as much as he loves the challenge of shoots like this, "I never really get to connect with the people I'm shooting."

This one ended with a hug.
