In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at Brigitte Freed, Tamron 150-600mm lens, lens testing in general, camera bags and camera WiFi.
- In The Photographer and His Printer, Partners in Art and Love, David Gonzalez and Fred Conrad tell Brigitte Freed's story about printing her husband Leonard Freed's work.
- Roger Cicala tests the Tamron 150-600mm Telezoom against the older Tamron 200-500mm, Sigma 50-500mm OS, and Canon 100-400mm IS lenses using a new Imatest target. "Some people will prefer the extra wide range of the Sigma, others the lighter weight of the Canon," he concludes. "But for a lot of people, the Tamron is going to be the best bang for the buck."
- For another take on lens testing, see Thom Hogan's About Lens Reviews with links to Imatest designer Norman Koren's discussion of the issue.
- Derrick Story has a short piece on Best Bag for You -- Backpack, Shoulder, or Sling? after reporting on How to use WiFi for an expert photo workflow with a Canon 70D and Olympus OM-D E-M1 for Macworld.
