In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at Virtual Photo Walks, Foldio Portable Studio, a Blood Moon and the Smithsonian Reader's Choice voting.

  • Virtual Photo Walks "reaches out to isolated individuals and communities, enlists photographers all over the world and then moderates, records and edits the interactive Walks to assure the safety and privacy of participants and to archive the experience so that the participants can share and look back on them."
  • Derrick Story performs a little $45 magic Smartphone Product Photography with Foldio Portable Studio.
  • EarthSky reminds us the first of four Blood Moon (total) eclipses will occur the night of April 14-15. The moon appears red during a total eclipse.
  • The Smithsonian is waiting for your vote for its Readers' Choice winner. Voting is open until May 6 at 6:00 p.m. ET.

And if you haven't peeked at our Lightroom mobile story, take a look at the Update section (just updated last night, in fact) while we work on the review. More to come...
