Once upon a time five little ladies posed in their Easter finest by the back fence of their home in Rochester, N.Y. We weren't there to capture it but fortunately a proud parent with a Kodak camera did.

Five Ladies on Easter. With an Exposure 5 border.

Many years later, the image was copied from a photo album by one of their husbands, scanned to a Kodak Photo CD and converted into a JPEG not long after that.

This morning we tried to open it, but Photoshop CC reported, "Could not complete your request because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found." So we imported it into Lightroom (which did read it) and immediately exported it to retouch it in Photoshop CC. There were a lot of scratches and some uneven exposure to work out. We added a white Alien Skin Exposure 5 border, too.

Then we polished our shoes....
