Datacolor has announced its $49 SpyderCHECKR 24, a camera color calibration and white balance target for photo and video color control. "Portable and affordable, SpyderCHECKR 24 is designed to color manage camera and scene for both still and motion imaging workflows," the company said.
The company cited three key uses of Spydercheckr 24 as:
- A camera calibration tool, with the new Spydercheckr software
- An in-camera white balance tool for still and motion
- A reference target for catalog work, fine art reproduction, and all photo and motion capture
"The biggest advantage of the system is that camera calibration is not limited to Raw files but can also be applied to JPEGs and video too," said Lee Varis, professional photographer and digital imaging artist.
