In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at a full-frame Pentax in development, Mann's iPhone 6 and 6 Plus images of Iceland, Storehouse for the iPhone and the BigPicture exhibit at the California Academy of Sciences.

  • Responding to a Sept. 16 post from Tony Bruce on its Facebook page, Ricoh Imaging France said, "Le full frame est en développement en ce moment même!" confirming Ricoh is developing a full frame Pentax.
  • Travel Photographer Austin Mann took the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus to Iceland on a week-long photo shoot.
  • Storehouse welcomed iOS 8 with a version of this free photographic story-telling app for the iPhone. We reviewed the iPad version in January.
  • The California Academy of Sciences exhibit BigPicture "illustrates, and celebrates, the incredible diversity of life on Earth through 45 stunning works from professional-level nature and conservation photographers." Through Nov. 2.
