In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at Capture NX-D and ViewNX updates from Nikon, one man's theory on why film looks better, a backup guide for photographers from CrashPlan and another BorrowLenses discount.
- Nikon has updated Capture NX-D to v1.0.3 and ViewNX to v2.10.2. The Current versions of Nikon software has the updates and release notes.
- David Shapton claims We may have solved the mystery of why film just looks better. Noise, he argues, isn't a bad thing.
- CrashPlan has published a Photographer's Guide To Backing Up With CrashPlan. We were impressed with CrashPlan when we first reported on it (long ago at some Macworld Expo) but ruled it out for our working systems because of its demanding resource requirements.
- BorrowLenses takes 15 Pct. Off Everything on any rental placed by tomorrow, Oct. 15, with the code AUTUMN14.
Thanks to Aaron for hunting down a couple of these. More to come...
