Adobe has released it Aperture Importer, a Lightroom 5.6 plug-in for Mac OS only to migrate Aperture and iPhoto libraries into Lightroom. The company also announced that Aperture users who subscribe to the Creative Cloud Photography plan will also receive a free three-month membership to KelbyOne.
According to the release notes, the plug-in will import the following data from those Apple libraries into Lightroom:
- Flags
- Star Ratings
- Keywords
- GPS Data
- Rejects
- Hidden Files
It will also import the following data, but only as Lightroom keywords:
- Color Labels

The notes also explain, "Since adjustments to photos made in Aperture and iPhoto can not be read into Lightroom, this plug-in will import both the original images and copies of the images that have adjustments applied."
