In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at Lightroom sharpening, shooting a Shuttle launch, a free comic book on copyright and using RSS to read publications like ours.
- Scott Kelby, taking over for Matt Kloskowski at Lightroom Killer Tips, answers Why Are There Three Different Places To Sharpen In Lightroom? with his own personal preferences. We, too, use High on our output sharpening, which (if we recall correctly) is based on Bruce Fraser's technique.
- In The Nerve-Wracking Process of Shooting the Very Last Space Shuttle Launch, Liz Stinson details photographer Dan Winters' remote setup complete with storyboards. "I know what my pictures are before I do them," he says.
- Duke Law's Center for the Study of the Public Domain has published Bound by Law?, a free digital comic book on copyright law.
- In What is RSS and Why Should I Use It? Kyle Ford explains how he uses Web-based RSS readers to follow sites like, well, Photo Corners. It's a short, sweet and up-to-date take on a very useful technology everyone could use.
