In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at Lightroom 6 OS requirements, Story's snapshots from Cuba, Karin Taylor's iPhone macrophotography and a Harold Davis workshop in San Francisco.
- In his Update on OS Support for Next Version of Lightroom, Lightroom Product Manager Sharad Mangalick notes, "Lightroom 6 will require Mac OS X 10.8 or above, or a 64 bit version of Windows 7, 8 or 8.1." It's 64-bit or bust on Windows, although OS 10.7 Lion has both a 32-bit and a 64-bit kernel so there must be some other issue behind that.
- Derrick Story posts his first set of Snapshots from Cuba. "I've been exploring the streets of Havana, Santa Clara and Trinidad with my Olympus OM-D E-M10," he writes. We like the handsome Yank tanks.
- Kate Wesson interviews Karin Taylor about her iPhone macrophotography. Taylor uses Camera+ and two Olloclip macro lenses to capture her mesmerizing shots.
- Harold Davis will be holding a San Francisco Night Photography Workshop on Feb. 20-23 for 12 photographers. We promise to turn on the lights.
