Nikon updated its lineup of long zoom Coolpix digicams with up to 60x optical zoom, 16-megapixel CMOS sensors, Full HD video, WiFi and NFC connectivity, GPS and more.

"For the photographer looking for a powerful compact zoom camera, Nikon's newest Coolpix cameras provide a variety of options designed to fit the creativity and needs of users," said Masahiro Horie, Nikon director of marketing and planning. "The new Coolpix P610, L840, S9900, S7000 and S6900 offer a wide range of zoom capabilities combined with trusted Nikon imaging technologies that deliver stunning results and incredible performance, whether near or far."

COOLPIX 610

The star of the group is the Coolpix 610, which features a 60x optical zoom with Nikkor ED glass lens and 120x Dynamic Fine Zoom complementing its 16-Mp CMOS sensor and high performance Autofocus system. A built-in electronic viewfinder and a 3.0-inch Vari-angle LCD, both boasting 921k dot resolution display help compose the shot.

You can capture Full HD video with stereo audio or time-lapse video. Still can be captured up to seven frames per second in full resolution and 5-stop Dual Detect Optical VR image stabilization minimizes the effects of camera shake.

The Coolpix P610 also features built-in GPS and Points of Interest, allowing users to geo-tag shots and view where they were taken on a map. This super-zoom camera also allows users to quickly and easily send photos to a compatible smartphone or tablet using the P610's built-in WiFi and NFC connectivity.
