Text of the catalog notes follow:

An excellent example of Irving Penn's genius, Woman with Bare Back exemplifies the mysterious quality ever apparent in the artist's work, achieved by the use of his iconic chiaroscuro effect. Dynamically lit, the model’s face appears only in silhouette, exposing her highlighted back framed by the lush arrangement of her fur, hair, and radiating pearl drop earring. This exceptional photograph rarely comes to market and presents an excellent opportunity to acquire a piece of fashion photography history. This print is printed by Irving Penn and selenium toned.

Opening bid for Woman with Bare Back is $33,000. The auction closes on March 31 at 1 p.m. EST.
