In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at fixing Creative Cloud 2015's Nikon D810 display issue, a Canon 5Ds teardown, DxO One sample images and Marijn van't Veer.

  • Oops, another glitch in the Creative Cloud 2015 release. Nikon D810 images display differently because "Lightroom 6.1 and Camera Raw 9.1 ignore the Adobe Standard Color Profile from Nikon D810 Raw images," according to Adobe. The fix is to download and install the Nikon D810 Adobe Standard Color Profile as the Nikon D810 Display Workaround help file explains.
  • In Canon 5Ds Teardown, Roger Cicala and Aaron Closz roll up their sleeves and take a new 5Ds apart, finding "there were not many surprises looking inside, and the few surprises we had were positive."
  • Derrick Story took the DxO One connected to an iPhone 5s for a hike in the Sierras and thinks The DxO One May Change Mobile Photography. Click on the thumbnails to see the larger images on Flickr.
  • Marijn van't Veer explains Why I Shoot Film, citing "image quality and workflow" as the two main reasons.

More to come...
