In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at wide-angle zooms, Kelby's 2015 Worldwide Photo Walk, perfection and a Creative Cloud give-away.

  • Roger Cicala and Brandon Dube cover Wide-Angle Zoom MTF and Variations. The tests cover the Canon 16-35 f2.8 L, 16-35 f4 IS L, 11-24mm f4 and the Nikon 14-24mm f2.8. And don't ask for more because each lens takes a week to test.
  • Scott Kelby's 2015 Worldwide Photo Walk will be held Oct. 3 but walk leader applications are being accept and will start being approved on Aug. 12.
  • In The Perfect Photograph, Nigel Turner admits, "I have never been totally satisfied with any of the images that I have made over the last twenty-five years. I always feel that I could have done better." Not a bad selection of landscape images, though.
  • Adobe Ambassador Dan Carr has a free One-Year Creative Cloud Subscription to give away.

More to come...
