Panasonic has announced it will soon be shipping its inexpensive 25mm f1.7 Micro Four Thirds prime. At 25mm the new lens represents a normal viewing angle, equivalent to a 50mm prime in the 35mm format.

Panasonic said the new lens supports high speed digital signal exchange at 240 fps to comply with the high-speed, high-precision autofocus with Depth from Defocus technology on the Lumix G camera.
The lens itself does not feature any optical stabilization.
HIGHLIGHTS
Highlights of the new 25mm prime include:
- The 25mm lens represents a normal viewing angle (35mm camera equivalent of 50mm)
- Appealing background bokeh from its f1.7 aperture and seven-blade diaphragm
- Lightweight and compact, with only a 2.05-inch length
- One UHR element for even illumination and sharpness
- A pair of aspherical elements to reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations
- Stepping motor delivers fast, smooth and near-silent autofocus for both stills and movies
