Eizo Expands Warranty To Guarantee No Bright Pixels

Eizo has announced it will expand its warranty on some of its FlexScan, ColorEdge and Foris monitors to cover bright pixels for six months from the date of purchase.
Bright pixels are always on, even in a black background, which "can cause a distraction for the viewer," Eizo said. Black pixels are, in contrast, never on but don't cause the same visual grief.
In fact, the warranty covers bright sub-pixels, which Eizo defines:
A bright sub-pixel is defined as one that is fully lit and must be visible in an ambient illuminance of more than 500 lux (typical office environment) and viewing distance of more than 35cm. Partially lit sub-pixels, dark pixels, and foreign substances in the LCD structure are not covered. For details please see www.eizoglobal.com/support/warranty/index.html
The specific monitors to which the new warranty terms apply include:
- FlexScan: EV3237, EV2750, EV2736W, EV2730Q, EV2455, EV2450, EV2436W, EV2336W
- ColorEdge: CG318-4K, CG248-4K, CG277, CG247, CX271, CX241, CS270, CS240, CS230
- Foris: FS2735, FS2434, FG2421

Eizo Guarantees Zero Bright Pixels for Six Months with FlexScan, ColorEdge, and Foris Monitors
CYPRESS, Calif. -- Eizo is expanding its product warranty to cover bright pixel defects on select FlexScan, ColorEdge and Foris monitors. Under this warranty, no bright sub-pixels are allowed for six months from the date of purchase.
A pixel is the smallest element in a digital image and consists of a red, green and blue sub-pixel. A bright sub-pixel is one that is permanently "on" and can cause a distraction for the viewer. Eizo is guaranteeing zero bright sub-pixels to ensure high quality standards and greater customer satisfaction.
