In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at top news photos of 2015, Photoshop's recoded Oil Paint filter, creative iPhone photos and ringl + pit.
- Alan Taylor presents the Top 25 News Photos of 2015. Tomorrow he starts a three-parter on the Year in Photos. So if you were planning to make news before the end of the year, please put it off until 2016.
- Julieanne Kost demonstrates the "completely re-coded Oil Paint filter in the November release of Photoshop CC 2015" (great for holiday gifts, you know):
- Kate Wesson shows off 30 Incredibly Creative Photos Taken With An iPhone from the school's weekly photo contest. A fun peek.
- The Winter 2016 issue of The Threepenny Review, which we've lauded as a literary magazine for photographers, is illustrated with images from the German photographers Grete Stern and Ellen Auerbach (known as ringl + pit), recently the subject of From Bauhaus to Buenos Aires at MOMA in New York.
More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
