In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at Ken Light, Sigma, three image editing applications for 2016 and camera sensor sizes.
- Sam Whiting talks to photojournalist Ken Light about his new book What's Going On? covering the late 1960s and early 1970s protest movement. An exhibit of the images closes today at UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism where Light is also the the Reva and David Logan Professor of Photojournalism.
- In On making lenses, inside Sigma, and the 18-300, Ming Thein tours the Sigma factory and reviews the company's 18-300mm zoom.
- In My Three Photo Apps for 2016, Derrick Story picks Capture One Pro 9, Exposure X and Photos for OS X as the image editing applications he plans to rely on this year.
- Mike Johnson discusses Camera Sensor Size (all of them) with a nice chart from Simon Crisp that helps distinguish "just noticeable differences" between formats.
