The Federal Aviation Administration has released its B4UFLY mobile application "helps unmanned aircraft operators determine whether there are any restrictions or requirements in effect at the location where they want to fly."
Highlights of the new app include:
- A clear status indicator to immediately inform the operator about the current or planned location.
- Information on the parameters that drive the status indicator
- A Planner Mode for future flights in different locations
- Informative, interactive maps with filtering options
- Links to other FAA UAS resources and regulatory information
The iOS app is available now on the App Store while Android users can sign up to test the beta of the Android version on the Google Play store.
The FAA has also published a B4UFLY FAQ PDF with more information about both the app and the beta testing program.
