Siftr has announced several new features of its artificial intelligence-powered photo curation platform. They include a new Search capability, automatically-curated Smart Collections and Photo Stories to provide text to correspond with the gallery images.

Siftr analyzes your lifetime of online photos (at the pixel level) from sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Flickr and 500px (Google Photos and DropBox coming soon) allowing you to rediscover your best photos from the snarled mess of these online libraries with instant keyword searching and beautiful sharable layouts.

Highlights of the new features include:

  • Siftr Search. Search leverages a powerful artificial intelligence platform to analyze your entire online library of photos at the pixel level to find relevant content without first assigning keywords, tags, etc. Just type search criteria such as "blue sky" or "red building" to sort your image library, stacking the criteria to further refine results.
  • Smart Collections. Smart Collections automatically compile similar thematic photos into categories such as landscapes, portraits, food, B&W, macros, dark background, etc. to help in discovering the hidden gems in your photos.
  • Photo Stories. Ideal for creative professionals looking to share past work with prospective clients or foodies looking to craft a storyline from a delicious culinary evening, Siftr's Photo Stories draw from your entire lifetime of photos.

Siftr Adds New Photo Discovery Features to World's First Self-Updating Photo Showcases

Siftr analyzes your lifetime of online photos to allow instant keyword searching and sharing; new Siftr Search capabilities and Smart Collections allow users to rediscover their best photos, while new Photo Stories help them instantly create beautiful sharable content.

DELHI, India -- Siftr, an artificial intelligence-powered photo curation platform helping people rediscover their online photos, today announced a series of new features designed to provide users with even more ways to rediscover their photos and create beautiful sharable layouts. Siftr analyzes a user's entire online photo library, at the pixel level and puts keyword content searches at their fingertips. With the new Siftr Search, photos from Facebook, Instagram, Flickr, 500px, etc., become instantly accessible and searchable at one single place allowing people to seamlessly create beautiful, sharable thematic collections, stories and Web sites. With the advent of mobile photography and social networks, there has been an explosion in the number of user generated photos posted online making it impossible to keep track of those pictures. Siftr allows users to rediscover their best pictures from this mountainous online library and share them in beautifully laid out online formats. The latest features to roll out to Siftr users include:

  • Siftr Search. Finding a specific photo or compiling a thematic collection of pictures from years of online uploads is virtually impossible. The Siftr Search leverages a powerful artificial intelligence platform to analyze a user's entire online library of photos (at the pixel level), allowing users to find relevant content in their photos without the painstaking process of first assigning keywords, tags, etc. With Siftr Search, simply type search criteria such as "blue sky" or "red building" to systematically sort the image library, these criteria can also be stacked to further refine results.
  • Smart Collections. While Siftr Search allows users to find the photos which they seek, many a time they simply do not know what to search for. For instance, a user might have a lot of interesting food photos, but they don't show up unless the user searches for specific food items. To provide Siftr users with some creative insights into the powerful search potential, the company is introducing Smart Collections which automatically compile similar thematic photos into categories such as landscapes, portraits, food, B&W, macros, dark background, etc. They not only help in discovering the hidden gems in a user's photos, but also make the photo browsing experience smoother.
  • Photo Stories. When a thematic collection demands some context, Siftr users can opt for the new Photo Stories layout which allows them to provide text to correspond with the gallery images. Ideal for creative professionals looking to share past work with prospective clients or foodies looking to craft a storyline from a delicious culinary evening, Siftr's Photo Stories draw from a user's entire lifetime of photos.

Founded by two former Adobe Systems engineers, Romil Mittal and Mayank Bhagya, Siftr was launched in 2015 with the goal of building a platform to streamline photo curation for photographers. It wasn't long before the founders realized their artificial intelligence platform held much wider appeal to the millions of people mired in years of online photos.

"We initially built Siftr as a platform for photographers looking to create beautiful headache-free photo Web sites and we quickly realized that the automatically created photo collections could have much larger appeal," said Mittal, Co-Founder of Siftr Labs. "When Siftr analyzes a user's online photos we not only investigate the images at the pixel level for content recognition, but we also review comments, likes, etc. from social properties to help highlight your best photos. With our advanced search and share features, users now have a unique ability to rediscover a lifetime of online photos."

Currently, Siftr users can access, analyze and share their photos from Facebook, Instagram, Flickr and 500px, but Mittal and his team have devoted the inexhaustible energy of their startup to rapidly expanding this integration. In coming weeks, users will also be able to integrate their pictures from DropBox and Google Photos.

"We envision Siftr as a companion platform to innumerable social networking and online storage services and we are continuing to work to ensure Siftr can reach into ever niche of their online photo collections," said Mittal. "We currently offer multiple subscription levels, from a free option to more advance features sets and image volume packages, depending on how advanced users would like to get."
