In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at Borrando la Frontera, Mike Mandel, the Golden State Warriors and a BorrowLenses discount.

  • In Erasing the Border, Alan Taylor presents 10 images from the Borrando la Frontera project's April 9 effort to remove parts of the U.S.-Mexico border fence by painting it sky blue.
  • In 1975 Mike Mandel conceived of his Baseball Photographer Trading Cards as a more or less a standard set of trading cards, except for one thing: rather than famous athletes, his cards would feature photographers. He shot some of the greatest photographers of the twentieth century, including Imogen Cunningham, Ed Ruscha and Ansel Adams (twice). He told SFMOMA all about it.
  • It's been a special season for the Golden State Warriors as they try to set the record for most wins in a season against the Memphis Grizzlies tonight. The San Jose Mercury News presents an 81-image slide show, one for each game, celebrating their season.
  • BorrowLenses is having a Tax Day Sale through April 18 with a 15 percent discount when you use the code BLTAXDAY.

More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
