In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at the Leica M-D, the Sony a6300, recommended Mac hardware and a 500px upgrade sale.
- In One City, Three Photographers and the Leica M-D, Nicholas La, Rui Palha and Daniel Arnold shoot Porto, Portugal with the new LCD-free Leica M-D. They discuss photography in general in the accompanying 10-minute video (which was not shot with the Leica M-D).
- Last Week's Workhorse Camera for Kirk Tuck was a lightweight. "I was excited by the idea of getting a Sony A7R2 but I'm finding that the little a6300 is the camera I'm pulling out of the bag most often to use in day to day projects," he begins.
- In Recommended Mac Hardware, Thom Hogan suggests more RAM, a good GPU and an SSD before discussing various Mac models. Don't miss the nice discussion of RAID options at the end.
- 500px is reprising its epic May sale of 15 percent off Plus ($1.77 instead of $2.08) and Awesome ($5.31 instead of $6.25) account upgrades through May 31. Both upgrades allow unlimited uploads and more stats.
More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
