In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at Marcel Sternberger, Huntington Witherill, a free webinar with the Copyright Zone guys and selfie sticks.
- Among the traits photographer Marcel Sternberger believed every good portraitist should have was "a good educational background, so that you may share a maximum number of interests with your sitters." In Capturing the Love, and Psyches, of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, Rene Silverman dips into Jacob Loewentheil's The Psychological Portrait, which shows 206 portraits by Sternberger of notable figures proving the point.
- Marc Silber asks Artist-of-the-Year photographer Huntington Witherill what visualization means to him in Five Composition Secrets with Huntington Witherill ... and we're off:
- X-Rite is sponsoring a free webinar June 6 with the Copyright Zone guys Ed Greenberg and Jack Reznicki, who will answer your questions about copyright law. Registration required.
- The Guns Replaced With Selfie Sticks Tumblr features 'shopped movie stills. At least one of them is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
